ABOUT THE EVENT

The Dance Center of Walla Walla brings to our homemade stage at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds Pavilion our first major live performance since 2019.  This is an original story to delight audiences of all ages.   Conceived by Idalee Hutson-Fish, our story does not begin with the traditional Grimm fairy tale of Snow White but takes a few different twists and turns from the original story.   This is NOT your Disney Snow White.

On a warm night in the middle of the forest, an ugly witch and her assistant are conjuring a way to make the witch the most beautiful woman in the world, but by accident awaken a magical Jinn who grants her wish to become a beautiful Queen.  As the story unfolds, we will find some of the familiar characters of Snow White.   Our evil Queen will be danced by the lovely Grace Fritzke who is a faculty member of The Dance Center and Whitman College graduate.   Our King will be represented by Tyson Kaup.   Seven-year-old Lillian Teal and eight-year-old Isaiah Ruybalid will dance the parts of Young Snow White and the Young Prince, her best friend.   Miss Amanda Gallaway, sixteen years old and a Sophomore at College Place High School,  will delight and warm your hearts as the beautiful Snow White and her beloved Prince dance by 16-year-old Joel Ruybalid.  Our Jinn will be danced by Maddy Van Cleve and Verona the Queen's assistant by Maddie Smith.   Emmett Lewis will be facing a daunting dilemma as the Hunter and in the end be instrumental in saving Snow White.    Our adorable Seven Dwarves are danced by:  Dominic Ruybalid, Isaiah Ruybalid, Charis Ruybalid, Bria Ruybalid, Sophie Miller, Isabel Lewis, and Hayley Magnaghni.

We have hopping bunnies, dancing deer, lively birds, evil mirror reflections, blooming roses, tapping cooks, and best friends gracing the stage by dancing their way through this unfolding adventure.   Watch the evil Queen transform into an old woman to entice Snow White to take a bite out of that apple.   And then rejoice as the Prince and Huntsman battle the evil Queen for the soul of Snow White.   But be surprised in the end by who really is the demise of the Queen.

We have a strong cast of dedicated dancers that are sure to delight the young and the young at heart.   Come experience, Snow White.   Thursday, June 2nd, at 7pm at the Walla Walla Fairground Pavilion.    Get your tickets in advance at www.thedancecenterofwallawalla.com or at the door.
